Principal Remote Digital Payments & Financial Infrastructure Architect – Saudi Arabia (GCC-Wide Remote)
Strategic Mandate
This role is designed for a senior-level fintech architect who will operate at the intersection of large-scale digital payments ecosystems, real-time financial infrastructure, and cross-border transaction orchestration. The mandate is not operational execution alone, but systemic financial architecture leadership—designing, stress-testing, and governing payment rails capable of supporting sovereign-scale transaction volumes, complex regulatory interfaces, and next-generation digital finance use cases.
The position is fully remote, yet strategically aligned with the Saudi Arabian financial ecosystem, regional capital flows, and multi-jurisdictional transaction corridors across the GCC and international markets.
Core Responsibilities

Architect and evolve end-to-end digital payment infrastructures, including instant payments, wallet ecosystems, merchant acquiring frameworks, and settlement engines.

Design high-availability transaction processing systems capable of handling extreme throughput, low-latency requirements, and systemic fault tolerance.

Lead the integration of API-driven financial services, ISO 20022 messaging standards, and real-time clearing and settlement logic.

Establish architectural governance models for fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, and financial crime risk controls without compromising user experience.

Translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into scalable technical frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

Provide architectural oversight for cross-border remittance flows, FX settlement layers, and multi-currency liquidity management.

Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders on future payment innovations, including tokenised settlement, programmable money, and embedded finance.
Required Expertise & Profile

15+ years of progressive experience in payments architecture, financial infrastructure, or large-scale fintech platforms.

Deep technical fluency in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and financial messaging protocols.

Proven experience designing mission-critical systems with zero-downtime tolerance.

Strong understanding of GCC financial market structures and global payment networks.

Ability to operate independently in a remote, high-autonomy environment with executive-level accountability.
Salary & Compensation Structure (Saudi Arabia Benchmark – Remote)

Base Annual Salary: SAR 780,000 – SAR 1,020,000

Remote Role Premium: Included to account for international expertise and autonomous delivery expectations
