The Mandate
Lead the design of the data infrastructure that powers next-generation financial products.
The Principal will establish robust data architectures capable of ingesting, processing and serving high-volume financial information across banking, payments and digital-finance platforms. This is a strategic technical position requiring both architectural depth and hands-on understanding of modern data engineering.
Key Responsibilities

Design enterprise-scale data architectures for fintech platforms.

Establish reliable pipelines for transactional, customer and operational data.

Develop scalable batch and real-time data-processing frameworks.

Define data models, schemas and engineering standards.

Improve data quality, lineage, availability and observability.

Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product teams and financial analysts.

Develop platforms supporting financial analytics and machine-learning workloads.

Evaluate cloud data technologies and determine appropriate architecture patterns.

Establish engineering standards for security, reliability and performance.

Mentor senior data engineers and contribute to technical governance.

Lead complex data-modernisation programmes.
Required Experience

9+ years in data engineering, platform engineering or financial technology.

Strong experience with distributed data systems and cloud platforms.

Advanced SQL and strong Python, Java or Scala capabilities.

Experience with streaming technologies, data warehouses and modern data platforms.

Understanding of financial transaction data and data-governance principles.

Strong architectural and technical-leadership skills.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
