Role Overview
This position is designed for a strategic fintech visionary who possesses a deep command of digitally scalable payment ecosystems, region-specific regulatory frameworks, and emerging global standards for cross-border transactions. Operating remotely while fully integrated into UAE’s advanced financial ecosystem, the Principal Strategist will author, orchestrate, and continuously evolve next-generation digital payment infrastructures built for high-volume throughput, instant liquidity assurance, multi-channel transaction orchestration, and data-driven regulatory intelligence.
The role requires a mastery of multi-rail payments architecture—encompassing card-based flows, account-to-account transfers, tokenized payment credentials, biometric authorization layers, digital wallets, ISO 20022-native messaging, and AI-enhanced fraud analytics. The strategist will build frameworks that support ultra-low-latency transaction routing, scalable merchant on-ramping, seamless fintech–bank collaboration, and autonomous reconciliation engines capable of near-zero operational friction.
Key Responsibilities

Engineer an integrated digital payments vision aligned with UAE’s innovation agenda, emphasizing real-time settlement, multi-asset support, and cross-border remittance modernization.

Design distributed financial infrastructure that combines secure microservices, API-first interfacing, cloud-native deployment, and high-redundancy failover architecture.

Architect compliance-aware workflows incorporating automated KYC verification, AML pattern detection, sanctions screening intelligence, and regulatory reporting pipelines.

Develop frameworks for QR-led merchant acceptance, NFC-based tap-to-phone capabilities, virtual card issuance, and scalable digital wallet ecosystems.

Lead the creation of a cross-border settlement strategy leveraging advanced messaging standards, liquidity optimization engines, and near-instant dispute management layers.

Introduce proprietary analytics models for payment behavior, merchant risk scoring, anomaly detection, and multi-dimensional fraud classification.

Collaborate with regional and international stakeholders to define interoperable standards aligned with global best practices and GCC-wide financial modernization.
Required Expertise

12+ years in digital payments, open banking, payment schemes, or financial infrastructure design.

Expert in ISO 20022, EMV specifications, card scheme interoperability, digital wallet frameworks, and instant payment rails.

Deep experience with cloud-native deployment (Kubernetes, containerized microservices, event-driven serverless architecture).

Strong command of AML/KYC automation frameworks, identity verification technologies, and regulatory data intelligence.

Ability to convert industry developments into strategic frameworks that are scalable, secure, and internationally aligned.
