Role Overview

The UAE continues to serve as a global benchmark for digital payments maturity, cross-border settlement infrastructure, and real-time financial interoperability. This role positions the candidate as a strategic force in end-to-end payments ecosystem design, focusing on UAE’s evolving digital finance stack—ranging from instant payments and tokenized settlement pathways to embedded commerce rails and enterprise-scale digital identity frameworks.

This position requires mastery in architecting scalable, regulator-aligned, cloud-first payments infrastructures capable of supporting exponential transaction growth, multi-network routing, high-fidelity risk scoring, and AI-orchestrated fraud intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design UAE-aligned real-time payment system blueprints, including liquidity routing frameworks, API settlement layers, and cross-border orchestration modules.

• Develop strategic models for tokenized payments, including merchant-side adoption, interoperability channels, and multi-rail settlement optimization.

• Build architectural roadmaps for AI-enhanced fraud mitigation, integrating behavioral analytics, anomaly detection matrices, and real-time event streaming.

• Oversee complex transformation programs involving cloud-native payment gateways, ISO 20022 alignment, and predictive treasury automation.

• Conduct regulatory harmonization assessments with UAE digital payments guidelines, ensuring architectural precision and future-proof scalability.

• Engineer multi-institution integration frameworks for fintech–bank interoperability, wallet-to-bank rails, and enterprise embedded payments.

Required Experience

• 10+ years in advanced fintech architecture, payments infrastructure engineering, or large-scale digital finance transformation.

• Deep knowledge of instant payments, tokenized settlement systems, orchestration layers, and end-to-end merchant acquiring cycles.

• Expertise in high-volume, low-latency systems using microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed workload management.

• Strong command of UAE payments compliance landscape.

• Demonstrated capability delivering multi-stakeholder, multi-phase payments modernization programs.

Preferred Competencies

• Mastery of digital identity frameworks (eKYC, decentralized ID, federation services).

• Experience integrating AI agents into payments monitoring, merchant segmentation, and liquidity planning.

• Ability to articulate enterprise-scale payments strategies to senior-level stakeholders.
