Mission Overview:

Bahrain, a forward-leaning Gulf state with a liberal fintech regulatory stance and a sophisticated central banking system, is emerging as a regional leader in digital asset custody, tokenized capital markets, and blockchain finance. We are hiring a Principal Architect of Remote Digital Asset Custody & Tokenization Strategy to spearhead the design, compliance alignment, and deployment of a full-stack digital asset infrastructure ecosystem—tailored to Bahrain’s unique regulatory, technological, and market positioning.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and architect digital asset custody frameworks in compliance with Central Bank of Bahrain’s crypto-asset module, including cold/warm/hot storage strategies, multi-party computation (MPC), and key-sharding techniques.

• Build tokenization models for Bahraini real estate, sukuk, private equity, and carbon credits—interfacing with distributed ledger platforms, smart contract layers, and asset registries.

• Lead cross-jurisdictional compliance mapping for token issuance, custody, and asset servicing under Bahraini, FATF, and EU MiCAR standards.

• Collaborate with auditing firms, legal specialists, and regulatory consultants to ensure real-time transparency, immutable ledgering, and auditable smart contracts.

• Develop APIs and microservices enabling token issuance, redemption, asset tracking, and valuation updates in a real-time, cloud-native environment.

• Advise on DeFi-to-TradFi bridge architecture including liquidity pools, on/off-ramps, KYC/AML enforcement, and integration with traditional financial service rails.

Requirements & Competencies:

• At least 10 years’ experience in fintech, with 5+ years specifically in digital asset custody, blockchain security, or tokenization architecture.

• Strong command of Solidity, Rust, or Vyper; familiarity with Ethereum, Polygon, R3 Corda, and/or Hyperledger platforms.

• Intimate knowledge of Bahrain’s regulatory sandbox, crypto-asset regulations, and cybersecurity norms.

• Experience integrating with financial market infrastructures (FMIs), custodians, and traditional clearing houses is a plus.

• Comfort working in multi-jurisdictional frameworks with deep understanding of cross-border compliance protocols.
