Role Mandate

This role is designed for a senior-level fintech architect operating at the intersection of large-scale digital payments infrastructure, real-time settlement systems, and cross-border transaction orchestration. The position assumes ownership of end-to-end payment ecosystem design, spanning consumer, merchant, institutional, and interbank layers within high-volume, latency-sensitive environments.

The mandate extends beyond technical execution into systemic financial design, requiring an individual capable of conceptualizing payment rails that align with evolving regulatory architectures, international interoperability standards, and next-generation financial use cases.

Strategic Scope & Responsibilities

• Architect and govern distributed payment infrastructures supporting real-time clearing, instant settlement, and high-availability transaction processing at scale

• Design API-driven financial ecosystems enabling seamless integration across wallets, merchant acquiring platforms, digital banking layers, and international payment networks

• Define architectural standards for fraud detection, transaction monitoring, reconciliation automation, and risk controls within high-throughput environments

• Lead the design of scalable ledger models supporting multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional transaction flows

• Collaborate with regulatory, compliance, and policy stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with regional and international financial frameworks

• Establish long-term technology roadmaps for payment modernization, resilience, and future extensibility

Required Expertise

• Advanced experience designing and deploying large-scale digital payments or transaction processing platforms

• Deep knowledge of real-time payment systems, settlement cycles, clearing mechanisms, and financial messaging standards

• Strong architectural command of microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native financial platforms

• Demonstrated ability to operate at strategic, system-of-systems level within fintech or financial infrastructure environments

• Exceptional documentation, governance, and cross-functional communication capabilities
