About the Role
An internationally expanding fintech banking institution is seeking an experienced Lead Retail Banking Operations Manager to oversee operational excellence across its digital retail banking ecosystem. This leadership role is responsible for optimizing banking operations, enhancing service delivery, strengthening operational controls, and supporting continuous innovation across customer-facing financial products and services.
As the organization continues to expand its portfolio of digital banking solutions, including online banking, mobile banking, instant payments, consumer lending, digital onboarding, virtual cards, and financial wellness platforms, the successful candidate will lead operational transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, resilience, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with operations teams, technology specialists, compliance officers, fraud prevention experts, customer experience professionals, finance leaders, and executive management, you will ensure that operational processes support sustainable growth while maintaining the highest standards of governance and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end retail banking operations across digital channels.
- Oversee customer onboarding, account servicing, payment processing, transaction management, and operational support.
- Develop operational strategies that improve productivity, service quality, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor operational risks and implement robust control frameworks.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Fraud Prevention, Technology, and Finance teams to strengthen operational resilience.
- Drive automation initiatives that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Monitor service performance through KPIs, dashboards, and operational analytics.
- Lead business continuity planning and operational resilience programmes.
- Coordinate internal audits and regulatory reviews.
- Develop policies, procedures, and operational governance documentation.
- Mentor operations managers and team leaders.
- Support strategic transformation programmes involving AI, automation, and intelligent banking technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Operations Management, or related field.
- Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Minimum 8 years of operational leadership experience within fintech, banking, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of digital banking operations, payment systems, and operational risk management.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
