Position Overview

Bahrain is advancing an ambitious open finance ecosystem, driven by secure data exchange, hyper-scalable API infrastructure, and intelligent financial service personalization. This role leads the architectural design of Bahrain’s next-generation open finance framework, ensuring seamless interoperability between banks, fintechs, merchants, and emerging digital platforms.

The candidate will operationalize sophisticated data orchestration pipelines, enhanced identity systems, and event-driven service delivery engines capable of powering digital banking, smart financial services, and enterprise integration networks. This remote position requires deep technical mastery and a strong grasp of open API governance, data regulation alignment, and AI-powered financial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end open finance infrastructures, including consent flows, identity federation, and secure multi-party data exchange protocols.

• Build API governance frameworks covering lifecycle management, security hardening, automated API telemetry, and inter-institution interoperability.

• Design high-performance data orchestration layers enabling AI-based personalization, real-time financial insights, and ecosystem-level analytics.

• Lead integration initiatives connecting banks, fintechs, payment startups, and digital service providers into unified open finance networks.

• Ensure compliance alignment through advanced data security policies, encryption frameworks, and access management architectures.

• Develop cloud-native scaling strategies supporting heavy API workloads and continuous ecosystem expansion.

Required Experience

• 10+ years in open banking, API architecture, distributed systems engineering, or fintech data interoperability.

• Expertise in secure data exchange, identity systems, API lifecycle management, and enterprise integration frameworks.

• Strong understanding of Bahrain’s digital finance landscape.

• Proven leadership in multi-stakeholder, cross-institution technical environments.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience with AI personalization engines, consent analytics, and predictive financial data modeling.

• Exceptional documentation, stakeholder communication, and technical alignment capabilities.
