About the Role
An internationally recognized fintech banking institution is seeking an outstanding Lead Backend Developer – Cloud Banking Infrastructure & Financial Services to build secure, resilient, and high-performance backend systems that power modern digital banking platforms, real-time payment networks, financial analytics services, embedded finance ecosystems, and intelligent customer applications.
This strategic software engineering leadership role combines backend architecture, distributed systems engineering, cloud-native development, API engineering, DevSecOps, database optimization, and enterprise integration. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing highly available services capable of supporting complex financial operations while maintaining exceptional security, regulatory alignment, and operational resilience.
Working alongside Enterprise Architects, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Specialists, AI Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Cybersecurity Professionals, Quality Assurance teams, Compliance Officers, and Executive Technology Leadership, you will help shape the future of digital banking innovation across one of the Gulf region’s most advanced fintech ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services for enterprise digital banking platforms.
- Build secure APIs supporting payments, lending, customer onboarding, account management, and financial reporting.
- Develop event-driven microservices architectures for mission-critical banking systems.
- Optimize database performance and transaction processing capabilities.
- Implement secure authentication, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment and infrastructure management.
- Support cloud-native modernization initiatives across enterprise banking platforms.
- Conduct architecture reviews, performance optimization, and technical risk assessments.
- Build automated testing frameworks ensuring reliability and resilience.
- Produce technical standards, engineering documentation, and architecture guidelines.
- Mentor engineering teams while promoting continuous innovation.
- Research emerging technologies supporting next-generation financial services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or Computer Science is highly advantageous.
- Minimum 8–10 years of backend software development experience within fintech, banking, or enterprise cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native engineering.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
