Strategic Role Definition

This role is designed for a senior fintech architect with deep expertise in cross-border payments, financial messaging frameworks, and clearing infrastructure. The mandate centers on designing and governing payment and settlement architectures that operate seamlessly across jurisdictions, currencies, and institutional boundaries.

The position is remote by design, yet requires a strong understanding of Bahrain’s role as a regional financial hub and its interaction with global payment ecosystems.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end cross-border payment and settlement platforms

• Define messaging, clearing, and reconciliation frameworks for multi-currency environments

• Establish architectural standards for latency, throughput, resilience, and transactional accuracy

• Embed compliance, auditability, and operational controls at infrastructure level

• Guide distributed engineering teams on complex, high-risk architectural decisions

Technical Scope

• Real-time and near-real-time payment systems

• Financial messaging standards and transaction orchestration layers

• Distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and fault-tolerant design

• Reconciliation, exception handling, and settlement finality frameworks

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years in fintech payments architecture or financial infrastructure engineering

• Demonstrated experience with cross-border or multi-market payment platforms

• Advanced understanding of distributed systems and financial data integrity

• Strong architectural authority with executive-level communication skills
