Role Overview
Merchant acquiring is at the heart of digital commerce. This role is for a leader who can design and scale payment acceptance ecosystems, enabling businesses to accept payments seamlessly across physical and digital channels.
You will lead the strategy for merchant onboarding, payment acceptance technologies, and value-added services, driving growth in digital transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a merchant acquiring strategy, including POS, e-commerce, and mobile payments
- Build and scale merchant onboarding and activation processes
- Design solutions for omnichannel payment acceptance (in-store, online, mobile)
- Collaborate with partners to expand payment acceptance networks
- Optimize pricing models, including merchant discount rates (MDR) and service fees
- Monitor performance metrics such as transaction volumes, merchant growth, and revenue generation
- Ensure compliance with payment regulations and industry standards
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years in payments, merchant acquiring, or financial services
- Strong understanding of payment acceptance technologies and ecosystems
- Experience managing large-scale merchant networks
- Proven leadership and strategic planning capabilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with POS systems and payment gateways
- Knowledge of e-commerce payment trends and technologies
- Familiarity with digital wallets and alternative payment methods
- Strong negotiation and partnership management skills
