A high-growth fintech payments environment in Dubai is entering a major regional expansion phase across the GCC, and is seeking a Head of Digital Payments Strategy & Network Expansion to lead its next stage of merchant, processor, and payment rail scaling.
This is a commercially strategic and operationally hands-on leadership role sitting directly in the flow of digital money movement across:
- Real-time payment systems
- Merchant acquiring networks
- E-commerce payment gateways
- Cross-border settlement rails
- Wallet and card-based payment infrastructure
The business is scaling aggressively and requires a leader who understands not just payments strategy, but how to keep payment systems stable at high transaction volumes while expanding into new markets.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and execute regional payment expansion strategy across GCC markets
- Lead growth of merchant acquiring and payment acceptance networks
- Improve transaction success rates across payment channels
- Oversee settlement flows between banks, PSPs, and acquiring partners
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in payment processing systems
- Work closely with engineering teams on system reliability and payment routing logic
- Build strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, and payment networks
- Expand embedded payments into enterprise platforms and digital ecosystems
- Monitor transaction performance and optimize system efficiency at scale
Candidate Profile
- 10+ years experience in fintech payments, banking operations, or financial infrastructure
- Strong exposure to:
- Payment gateways and switching systems
- Merchant acquiring operations
- Card network ecosystems (Visa/Mastercard)
- Settlement and reconciliation frameworks
- Proven experience scaling payment systems or transaction networks
- Strong commercial + technical understanding of fintech infrastructure
