Head of Cross-Border Payments & FX Innovation – Doha, Qatar
Role Overview
Cross-border payments remain one of the most fragmented and inefficient layers of global finance. This role is for a leader capable of reengineering international money movement, optimizing speed, cost, transparency, and compliance.
You will spearhead initiatives that modernize FX corridors, remittance systems, and global settlement mechanisms.
Core Responsibilities
- Design multi-currency payment infrastructures supporting real-time cross-border transfers
- Optimize foreign exchange (FX) pricing engines and liquidity management systems
- Lead integration with global payment networks (SWIFT, correspondent banking systems, emerging rails)
- Develop blockchain-based settlement models for faster and more transparent transactions
- Implement compliance frameworks for AML, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring
- Build strategic corridors across high-volume remittance markets
Technical Environment
- Payment Rails: SWIFT gpi, ISO 20022, RTP integrations
- FX Systems: Algorithmic pricing engines, treasury management tools
- Blockchain: Distributed ledger solutions for settlement optimization
- Data Systems: Real-time monitoring, anomaly detection systems
- Infrastructure: Hybrid cloud with high-availability architecture
Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years in payments, FX trading, or international banking systems
- Deep understanding of cross-border liquidity flows and correspondent banking
- Experience designing scalable remittance or FX platforms
- Strong regulatory awareness across multiple jurisdictions
- Strategic thinker with execution capability in complex financial systems
