Role Charter
The Transaction Processing & Switching Manager is responsible for overseeing the core transaction switching infrastructure that connects multiple financial endpoints, including banks, payment networks, and digital platforms. The role ensures high-speed, reliable, and secure routing of financial transactions across systems.
Primary Mandate
To guarantee seamless transaction switching operations while optimizing routing logic, minimizing latency, and maintaining system integrity across high-volume fintech environments.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Switching Operations
- Manage real-time transaction routing between payment networks and banking systems
- Ensure optimal routing paths to maximize success rates and minimize processing delays
- Monitor switching systems for uptime, performance, and reliability
System Optimization & Performance
- Analyze transaction flows to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks
- Implement performance enhancements to improve throughput and latency
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale systems based on demand
Integration Oversight
- Coordinate integrations with new financial institutions and payment networks
- Ensure compatibility between switching systems and external platforms
- Maintain documentation of integration processes and protocols
Risk & Security Management
- Implement safeguards to prevent transaction failures and fraud
- Ensure compliance with payment security standards
- Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews
Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of transaction switching systems and payment processing
- Familiarity with ISO messaging standards and real-time payment networks
- Experience with high-availability systems and distributed architectures
- Knowledge of fintech infrastructure and integration frameworks
Experience Profile
- 5+ years in fintech operations, payment switching, or banking technology
- Experience managing high-volume transaction environments
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
