Role Overview
The Digital Payment Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of digital financial transactions. This includes payment initiation, authorization, clearing, reconciliation, and settlement. The role ensures high operational accuracy, customer satisfaction, and compliance with internal processes.
Operational Workflow Responsibilities
1. Transaction Initiation & Validation
- Monitor and validate transactions from multiple channels, including web, mobile, and POS
- Ensure accurate capture of transaction details
- Identify potential anomalies at initiation
2. Authorization & Routing
- Monitor payment authorization processes
- Troubleshoot declines or authorization errors
- Collaborate with IT and payment gateways to ensure smooth processing
3. Clearing & Reconciliation
- Ensure accurate clearing of transactions
- Reconcile internal transaction records with external systems
- Resolve discrepancies and generate reconciliation reports
4. Settlement & Reporting
- Ensure timely settlement of transactions to banking partners
- Prepare operational reports for management
- Identify recurring issues and recommend workflow improvements
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems
- 5–8 years of experience in fintech operations, payment processing, or banking
- Strong understanding of digital payment lifecycle, reconciliation, and settlement
