A Day in This Role
You start your day analyzing a surge in transaction volume across a digital wallet platform. Within minutes, you identify a bottleneck in the data ingestion pipeline affecting real-time analytics.
By mid-day, you’ve:
- Optimized streaming data flows using distributed processing systems
- Collaborated with backend engineers to refine API throughput
- Strengthened data integrity checks for financial reporting pipelines
Later, you’re designing infrastructure that ensures millisecond-level data availability for fraud detection and customer insights.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for financial transactions
- Ensure high availability and low latency across data systems
- Integrate structured and unstructured financial datasets
- Support real-time analytics and reporting frameworks
- Enhance system resilience and fault tolerance
Your Technical Toolkit
- Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., Kafka, Spark, or similar frameworks)
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or distributed systems engineering
- Understanding of fintech data structures and transaction flows
- Familiarity with cloud environments and microservices architecture
