THE ARCHITECTURE CHALLENGE
Financial technology is increasingly becoming an infrastructure discipline.
The objective of this position is to design the technical foundation upon which high-volume, intelligent and highly resilient financial services can operate.
The Financial Technology Infrastructure Architect will sit at the intersection of distributed systems, payment technology, cloud engineering, financial data, cybersecurity and digital banking, converting business requirements into sophisticated technical architectures.
ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSIBILITY
01 — TRANSACTION ENGINEERING
Design resilient architectures supporting:
- Real-time payment processing
- Digital wallets
- Merchant transactions
- P2P transfers
- Payment orchestration
- Transaction routing
- Settlement systems
- Cross-platform financial integrations
02 — CLOUD & DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS
Develop infrastructure strategies around:
- Cloud-native architecture
- Microservices
- Containerized environments
- Event-driven systems
- Distributed databases
- High-availability infrastructure
- Disaster recovery
- Horizontal scalability
03 — FINANCIAL DATA
Create intelligent frameworks for:
- Real-time financial data
- Transaction analytics
- Data pipelines
- Financial intelligence
- Data governance
- Predictive analytics
- Machine-learning integration
04 — SECURITY
Architect resilient environments covering:
- Identity and access management
- API security
- Encryption
- Authentication
- Transaction monitoring
- Fraud intelligence
- Cyber-resilience
- Infrastructure protection
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
You will:
- Define enterprise fintech architecture standards.
- Design scalable financial technology infrastructure.
- Evaluate emerging technology platforms.
- Establish API and integration frameworks.
- Create technical modernization roadmaps.
- Review architecture for performance and resilience.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership.
- Identify infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Design systems capable of supporting substantial transaction volumes.
- Establish technology principles for future fintech products.
THE IDEAL ARCHITECT
Experience: 10–15+ years
Core expertise may include:
Cloud Architecture • Distributed Systems • Payment Processing • APIs • Microservices • Data Architecture • DevOps • Cybersecurity • Machine Learning Infrastructure • Digital Banking
Professional experience designing large-scale financial or transaction-processing environments will be highly valued.
Indicative Compensation
OMR 5,000 – 8,000 monthly
