Role Overview
A major financial innovation ecosystem in Dubai is seeking an exceptional Executive Vice President – Digital Payments & Fintech Infrastructure to lead the strategic transformation of enterprise-wide payment systems, transaction banking architecture, and next-generation financial infrastructure across regional and international markets.
This is a flagship executive leadership opportunity designed for a senior fintech strategist with deep expertise in payment rails, merchant ecosystems, embedded finance, treasury-linked transaction services, acquiring and issuing operations, API banking frameworks, and institutional financial modernization.
The successful candidate will be entrusted with building and executing the organization’s long-term payments vision—ensuring the institution remains at the forefront of digital transaction innovation, customer experience excellence, and operational resilience across high-volume financial environments.
This role demands both commercial leadership and architectural sophistication, requiring someone capable of aligning regulatory compliance, financial performance, customer growth, and infrastructure modernization into one scalable strategic framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide digital payments strategy across merchant acquiring, payment gateways, real-time settlements, cross-border transactions, and transaction banking operations
- Oversee modernization of payment infrastructure including wallets, virtual accounts, API banking, QR payments, embedded finance solutions, and omnichannel merchant platforms
- Design scalable frameworks for payment orchestration, acquiring optimization, authorization performance, and settlement efficiency
- Drive strategic partnerships with financial institutions, processors, payment schemes, remittance providers, and fintech ecosystem partners
- Collaborate with compliance, legal, treasury, and regulatory teams to ensure full alignment with UAE and international payment regulations
- Improve transaction success rates, fraud prevention models, merchant onboarding flows, and payment acceptance performance
- Build executive governance structures for payments innovation, financial controls, and operational performance reporting
- Support expansion into new international payment corridors and institutional treasury-linked transaction ecosystems
- Lead commercial monetization strategies across payments products and merchant financial services
- Mentor senior leaders across operations, product, finance, and technology divisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Technology, Economics, Computer Science, or Business Administration
- MBA or executive postgraduate qualification strongly preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of senior leadership experience within payments, banking technology, fintech, or financial infrastructure
- Deep expertise in acquiring, issuing, payment gateways, treasury operations, and transaction banking ecosystems
- Strong knowledge of real-time payments, ISO 20022, SWIFT infrastructure, API integrations, and payment compliance frameworks
- Proven success leading high-value enterprise transformation programs in regulated financial environments
- Exceptional executive communication and strategic decision-making capabilities
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management at board level
