Role Mandate
This role is created for a senior fintech authority responsible for defining how financial obligations are cleared, settled, and irrevocably finalized within modern digital financial systems. The mandate addresses one of the most critical and least visible layers of fintech: the point at which transactions become legally and economically final.
The role is neither operational nor vendor-specific. It focuses on system architecture, settlement logic, and structural risk containment, ensuring that high-volume digital financial activity resolves with absolute certainty, transparency, and resilience.
Strategic Responsibilities

Architect clearing and settlement frameworks supporting real-time, deferred, and hybrid settlement models.

Define settlement lifecycle logic including netting, gross settlement, liquidity prefunding, and exception handling.

Design fault-tolerant settlement engines capable of maintaining determinism under extreme load and partial failure.

Establish architectural standards for settlement finality, reversibility constraints, and dispute resolution.

Act as principal authority on settlement risk, liquidity exposure, and systemic resilience.
Technical & Domain Expectations

Deep expertise in financial settlement systems, transaction lifecycle modeling, and reconciliation logic.

Strong understanding of how settlement design influences liquidity, credit exposure, and operational risk.

Ability to design systems that withstand institutional audit and regulatory scrutiny by construction.
Professional Profile

15+ years in fintech infrastructure, financial market systems, or large-scale settlement platforms.

Demonstrated experience architecting or governing mission-critical settlement systems.
