Position Overview
The Executive Director of Digital Payment Systems & Cross-Border Architecture will lead the strategic engineering, policy design, and technological modernization of digital payment infrastructures serving the UAE’s rapidly expanding fintech landscape.
The position is ideal for a visionary leader capable of merging regulatory strategy, high-performance financial technology, and international payment innovation to advance regional interoperability and cross-border settlement efficiency.
Operating within a remote global ecosystem, this role will shape the foundational architecture of real-time payments, digital currencies, and interlinked banking systems aligned with next-generation financial inclusion and speed objectives.
Core Responsibilities

Design and govern a comprehensive real-time digital payments framework with modular interoperability across banks, fintechs, and regional clearing systems.

Oversee integration of instant payment standards (ISO 20022, RTP, API-driven ecosystems) into financial infrastructure.

Develop strategies for cross-border digital remittance modernization, promoting liquidity, transparency, and traceability.

Drive adoption of tokenized settlements, CBDC interoperability, and blockchain-based cross-border corridors.

Lead engagement with international regulators, payment networks, and fintech innovation hubs to enhance UAE’s digital financial competitiveness.

Establish advanced performance metrics for speed, reliability, and compliance efficiency in digital transactions.
Candidate Profile

12–18 years in digital payment strategy, fintech infrastructure design, or cross-border finance innovation.

Expert knowledge of payment rail architecture, clearing system engineering, and global remittance technologies.

Strong grasp of financial policy frameworks, data governance, and AML/CFT compliance automation.

Track record of leading multi-stakeholder fintech transformation projects within international ecosystems.

Outstanding communication and global partnership skills, capable of navigating complex financial ecosystems.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate in Financial Technology, Systems Engineering, or International Finance.

Certifications in Payment Systems Management, Blockchain Strategy, or Cloud Financial Infrastructure.

Experience in regional digital transformation projects aligned with GCC and BIS frameworks.
