Position Overview
A rapidly expanding financial technology ecosystem is seeking an accomplished Executive Director – Digital Payments Transformation to spearhead strategic innovation initiatives across next-generation payment infrastructures. This executive leadership role is designed for a visionary professional capable of leading enterprise-scale payment modernization, digital financial transformation, embedded finance initiatives, and high-value partnerships across regional and international markets.
The successful candidate will work alongside executive stakeholders to architect scalable financial ecosystems that enhance operational resilience, customer experience, regulatory compliance, and commercial growth while leveraging emerging technologies including AI, cloud-native architecture, digital identity, and intelligent payment orchestration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide digital payment transformation programs.
- Develop long-term fintech growth and commercialization strategies.
- Oversee digital wallet, instant payment, and merchant acquiring initiatives.
- Drive cross-border payment optimization and settlement innovation.
- Collaborate with regulators and financial institutions on emerging payment frameworks.
- Direct payment modernization using cloud-native financial platforms.
- Build strategic alliances across banking, fintech, and technology sectors.
- Champion AI-powered fraud prevention and transaction monitoring.
- Establish governance frameworks for payment security and operational excellence.
- Manage executive-level budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning.
- Mentor senior leadership teams and cultivate high-performance organizational culture.
- Deliver measurable improvements across customer acquisition, transaction efficiency, and profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline.
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- 12–18+ years of progressive leadership experience within fintech, banking, or payments.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, ISO 20022, SWIFT, RTP, Open Banking, and API banking.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and executive communication skills.
