Strategic Role Overview

A global financial technology organization focused on building next-generation digital financial infrastructure is seeking an Executive Director of Digital Finance Architecture & Payment Infrastructure Strategy to lead the design and long-term development of scalable fintech ecosystems serving institutions and financial platforms across Saudi Arabia.

This executive-level position will oversee the strategic architecture of modern financial systems including payment gateways, transaction processing frameworks, API-driven financial services, and emerging digital asset infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate with distributed engineering teams, fintech strategists, and financial system architects to deliver resilient, secure, and highly scalable digital financial platforms.

The role requires a deep understanding of fintech infrastructure design, modern financial software architecture, regulatory technology frameworks, and global payment ecosystems.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

Digital Financial Architecture Strategy

• Define the long-term architecture vision for fintech infrastructure supporting large-scale digital financial services.

• Lead architectural decisions across distributed fintech systems including payment networks, financial APIs, and transaction processing engines.

• Develop technical blueprints that ensure scalability, reliability, and interoperability across digital financial platforms.

Payment Infrastructure Design

• Oversee the technical architecture of payment gateway integrations, settlement frameworks, and real-time transaction systems.

• Support the development of cross-border payment infrastructure supporting global financial interoperability.

• Guide engineering teams in the deployment of highly available payment processing systems.

Financial Technology Innovation Leadership

• Evaluate emerging fintech technologies and incorporate them into long-term platform architecture strategies.

• Support innovation programs exploring AI-driven financial analytics, digital identity systems, and automated financial services.

• Ensure digital financial systems remain adaptable to evolving fintech market demands.

Governance, Security & Compliance Alignment

• Work with risk and compliance teams to align fintech infrastructure with international financial regulatory frameworks.

• Implement governance models that ensure system integrity, operational resilience, and transaction security.

• Support financial technology risk mitigation initiatives across distributed platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with product leadership teams responsible for digital banking and financial services development.

• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams responsible for fintech infrastructure deployment.

• Collaborate with operational leaders responsible for financial platform monitoring and support.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Financial Technology, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.

• 10+ years experience designing financial technology infrastructure or digital banking architecture.

• Extensive knowledge of payment processing systems, fintech platforms, and financial APIs.

• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale fintech technology programs.
