Role Overview

As the financial services sector accelerates toward digitally native banking environments, legacy systems are being phased out in favor of modular, API-driven, and cloud-native platforms capable of delivering seamless real-time services.

We are seeking an Executive Director of Digital Banking Architecture to lead the strategic design, governance, and deployment of enterprise-grade fintech platforms aligned with the Saudi Arabian digital finance ecosystem. This role is fully remote and requires a candidate capable of shaping cross-border digital banking architectures at scale.

The Executive Director will ensure that digital banking platforms are scalable, secure, and fully compliant with international best practices, while integrating open banking, embedded finance, and real-time analytics functionalities.

Strategic Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Digital Banking Strategy

• Lead the architecture of next-generation digital banking platforms with integrated APIs.

• Design scalable financial ecosystems capable of supporting millions of transactions in real time.

• Establish architecture governance and standards to ensure consistency across multiple digital platforms.

Cloud & Platform Integration

• Oversee cloud-native deployments, ensuring high availability and distributed transaction resiliency.

• Integrate third-party fintech services into a unified open banking ecosystem.

• Develop microservices-based architectures to enable modular financial product deployment.

Innovation & Emerging Technologies

• Evaluate blockchain, AI, and analytics solutions for operational efficiency and strategic advantage.

• Implement intelligent transaction processing, AI-powered fraud detection, and predictive analytics systems.

Security & Regulatory Alignment

• Architect cybersecurity frameworks that protect sensitive financial and customer data.

• Ensure systems comply with global regulatory standards and local fintech regulations.

Technology Environment

• Cloud-native banking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Microservices & API orchestration

• Open banking frameworks & API gateways

• AI-powered fraud detection and analytics

• Real-time transaction streaming platforms

Candidate Profile

Experience: 15+ years in digital banking infrastructure, enterprise fintech architecture, or open banking platform leadership.

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of cloud-based financial systems, open banking, and API ecosystem integration.

Leadership Attributes: Strong experience leading global, distributed fintech engineering teams. Strategic thinker with proven experience in large-scale digital finance transformation.
