Mandate Overview
This role is established to define and govern open finance ecosystems, focusing on API architecture, data interoperability, platform accountability, and ecosystem scalability. The mandate is not limited to technical API delivery but extends to ecosystem design, determining how financial institutions, fintech platforms, and third-party services interact within controlled, regulator-observable environments.
The position aligns with the UAE’s advanced digital finance ambitions while maintaining compatibility with global open-banking and open-finance standards.
Core Strategic Responsibilities

Design reference architectures for open finance platforms, API gateways, and data-sharing ecosystems

Define governance models for consent management, access control, and data accountability

Establish interoperability standards across banking, payments, wealth, and financial data services

Embed regulatory observability and auditability into API and ecosystem design

Evaluate global open-finance precedents and adapt architectural best practices to regional requirements

Produce ecosystem-level documentation suitable for regulators, platform designers, and senior stakeholders
Required Professional Depth

12–15+ years in fintech architecture, open banking, or financial platform strategy

Deep expertise in API ecosystems, data governance, and interoperability frameworks

Strong regulatory literacy within GCC and international financial environments

Exceptional ability to operate autonomously in a senior remote role
