Executive Architect – Cross-Border Payments Infrastructure & Global Transaction Platforms

Jurisdictional Anchor: State of Qatar (GCC – Remote)

Strategic Mandate

This appointment is intended for a senior fintech architect entrusted with the design, governance, and long-term evolution of cross-border payments and global transaction infrastructures. The role exists at the intersection of international payment rails, settlement mechanics, and financial systems resilience, where architectural decisions materially influence liquidity velocity, transaction certainty, and platform scalability across jurisdictions.

The incumbent will operate as a systems-level authority, shaping not only how payment infrastructures function operationally, but how they are future-proofed against volume expansion, regulatory complexity, and technological disruption.

Strategic Scope & Responsibilities

  • Architect and govern multi-currency, cross-border payment ecosystems supporting real-time, near-real-time, and deferred settlement models

  • Design transaction orchestration layers enabling intelligent routing, liquidity-aware settlement sequencing, and exception handling

  • Establish architectural principles for API-centric payment platforms, modular settlement engines, and interoperability layers

  • Define resilience standards for system redundancy, throughput elasticity, fault isolation, and transaction finality

  • Oversee integration strategies linking banks, payment service platforms, and alternative financial rails

  • Shape long-range roadmaps for payments infrastructure modernization and global scalability

Technical & Domain Mastery

  • Expert-level knowledge of payment switches, clearing systems, settlement frameworks, and reconciliation engines

  • Proven experience designing high-availability, low-latency, cloud-native financial platforms

  • Strong command of transaction traceability, monitoring frameworks, and operational controls

  • Ability to translate complex financial and operational constraints into cohesive architectural blueprints

Leadership, Governance & Influence

  • Acts as a principal advisor on transaction architecture and systemic risk

  • Establishes architectural governance standards across distributed engineering teams

  • Mentors senior technologists in payments system design philosophy and long-horizon thinking

Salary Structure (USD – Remote, Qatar-Anchored)

  • Base Annual Salary: USD 150,000 – 185,000

  • Global Payments Architecture Allowance: USD 20,000 – 30,000

  • Performance-Linked Variable Component: Up to 20%

  • Total Annual Compensation Potential: USD 190,000 – 240,000
