Position: Remote Embedded Payments API Architect
Location: Remote (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
Capability Overview
Embedded payments are redefining commerce by integrating financial transactions directly into digital ecosystems. This role focuses on designing and maintaining API-driven payment infrastructure that enables seamless financial interactions within third-party platforms.
Functional Capability Stack
1. API Architecture Design
- Design scalable and secure payment APIs for embedded finance use cases
- Develop modular API systems for multi-platform integration
- Define authentication, authorization, and encryption standards
2. Payment Infrastructure Engineering
- Build systems supporting card payments, wallets, and real-time transfers
- Ensure compatibility with multiple payment networks and financial institutions
- Optimize transaction routing for speed, cost, and reliability
3. Integration Ecosystem Development
- Enable seamless integration with e-commerce platforms, SaaS systems, and mobile applications
- Support developer onboarding through documentation and sandbox environments
- Maintain backward compatibility across API versions
4. Performance & Reliability Management
- Monitor API latency, uptime, and transaction success rates
- Implement scaling strategies for high-volume payment environments
- Design redundancy systems to ensure continuous availability
Technical Requirements
- Strong expertise in RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
- Experience with payment gateways and fintech infrastructure systems
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerized deployments
- Understanding of secure financial data transmission protocols
Professional Profile
- 7–12 years in backend engineering, fintech infrastructure, or API architecture roles
- Experience building payment systems or embedded finance solutions
- Strong systems engineering and problem-solving capabilities
