Role Overview

The Director of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Strategy will lead the development of advanced regulatory and compliance frameworks to support fintech innovation in Qatar. This executive-level role will ensure fintech initiatives operate within robust governance structures while aligning with international financial standards. The position requires deep knowledge of global regulatory practices, RegTech integration, and cross-border compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop policy frameworks to support fintech solutions in payments, digital banking, wealthtech, and digital assets.

• Engage with regulators, central banks, and global financial institutions to ensure alignment with FATF, Basel III, GDPR, and international AML/CFT standards.

• Design compliance models leveraging RegTech and AI-driven monitoring tools.

• Create risk management and reporting frameworks for digital financial platforms.

• Conduct regulatory horizon scanning to anticipate global changes in fintech policy.

• Represent Qatar’s fintech ecosystem in international regulatory discussions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Law, Public Policy, or Finance.

• 12+ years’ experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or fintech governance.

• Expertise in digital finance compliance, blockchain regulation, and RegTech adoption.

• Proven track record of working with international regulatory frameworks and cross-border institutions.

• Strong negotiation and policy advocacy skills.
