Job Overview

Director of Cross-Border Payments- FX Orchestration & Global Settlement Systems

Location: United Arab Emirates (Dubai | Remote-First Strategic)

Mandate & Structural Purpose

This role governs how value moves across borders in a digitised global economy. The mandate is not transactional, operational, or product-based. Instead, it defines the architecture of international money movement, ensuring that speed, cost efficiency, transparency, and settlement certainty coexist without compromising systemic stability.

The Supreme Director will architect the invisible rails that enable cross-border payments, multi-currency settlement, liquidity routing, and foreign-exchange optimisation to function as a single, coherent financial organism.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Architect cross-border payment and settlement frameworks supporting real-time and near-real-time execution.

  • Design FX orchestration layers enabling dynamic routing, pricing, and liquidity optimisation.

  • Define multi-currency settlement abstraction models separating user experience from balance-sheet reality.

  • Establish interoperability standards across domestic payment rails, international clearing systems, and digital finance platforms.

  • Embed risk controls, compliance logic, and transaction observability directly into cross-border execution paths.

  • Design resilience and failover architectures for international payment continuity.

  • Translate global financial standards into deterministic system logic.

  • Develop long-term blueprints for the evolution of global digital payments infrastructure.

Required Mastery

  • Deep expertise in international payments, FX markets, and settlement systems.

  • Advanced understanding of distributed transaction processing and liquidity mechanics.

  • Strong command of financial messaging standards and orchestration engines.

  • Ability to design systems where global scale does not introduce fragility.

Leadership Orientation

  • Thinks globally, designs structurally.

  • Treats cross-border complexity as an architectural problem.

  • Operates with market-infrastructure accountability.

Compensation Architecture (United Arab Emirates)

  • Base Salary: AED 1,900,000 – 2,300,000 per annum

  • Global Payments Leadership Allowance: AED 360,000 – 520,000

  • Cross-Border Performance Incentive: Up to 40% of base

  • Long-Term Settlement Infrastructure Awards: Multi-year milestone-linked compensation

  • Benefits: Global mobility, elite healthcare, advanced research funding, international financial-systems advisory access
