Role Overview
This is a rare executive-level opportunity to lead high-impact blockchain payment initiatives driving Saudi Arabia’s next wave of financial modernization. The Director of Blockchain Payments Innovation will oversee strategic architecture, cross-border settlement design, and tokenized payment ecosystems within a fully remote, globally integrated environment.
Purpose of the Role
The incumbent will design and operationalize scalable blockchain-enabled payment solutions aligned with the Kingdom’s financial digitization and Vision 2030 objectives. This includes developing interoperability frameworks between decentralized networks, central payment rails, and next-generation CBDC pilots.
Key Responsibilities

Architect cross-border blockchain payment infrastructures integrating real-time settlement, smart contracts, and stablecoin-based liquidity systems.

Drive research and implementation of distributed payment protocols for digital remittances and interbank tokenization.

Collaborate with financial regulators to define blockchain governance, security, and auditing frameworks.

Lead technical product roadmaps integrating interoperability, scalability, and compliance within hybrid blockchain ecosystems.

Evaluate partnerships with global DeFi innovators, institutional investors, and payment processors.

Develop a data-driven ecosystem strategy connecting retail payment innovation with wholesale CBDC adoption.
Required Capabilities

10+ years in blockchain payments, fintech R&D, or financial systems architecture.

Deep understanding of distributed consensus models, token economics, and cryptographic payment infrastructure.

Advanced familiarity with ISO 20022, CBDC frameworks, and cross-border digital asset settlement.

Experience in designing hybrid blockchain ecosystems (public-private interoperability).

Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Cryptoeconomics, or Financial Systems Engineering.
