Position Overview

A global fintech infrastructure initiative focused on digital financial services is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Technology Security Officer (CFTSO) to oversee cybersecurity strategy and risk management for its fintech platforms.

This executive leadership role is responsible for protecting financial technology systems, safeguarding digital payment infrastructure, and ensuring secure financial data management across distributed fintech operations. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of security frameworks that support high-volume digital financial transactions while maintaining compliance with international financial security standards.

Strategic Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Leadership

• Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy for fintech platforms and digital financial services.

• Establish governance frameworks for security risk management across fintech infrastructure.

• Lead internal security operations and oversee incident response protocols.

Financial Systems Protection

• Design security architecture for digital payment systems, financial APIs, and financial transaction platforms.

• Implement encryption, identity management, and authentication protocols that protect financial data.

• Monitor fintech systems for vulnerabilities and emerging cyber threats.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Ensure fintech security practices align with international financial security standards and regulatory expectations.

• Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing exercises.

• Coordinate compliance reporting related to cybersecurity governance.

Executive Collaboration

• Advise leadership on cybersecurity strategy, financial system resilience, and digital risk mitigation.

• Work closely with technology, compliance, and product teams to ensure secure fintech innovation.

• Lead security awareness initiatives across distributed teams.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or Financial Technology.

Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with significant exposure to fintech or financial services environments.

• Experience leading enterprise security programs or fintech security architecture initiatives.

Technical Expertise
