Role Overview
The Chief Digital Payments Transformation Officer will architect and oversee the modernization of Saudi Arabia’s digital payment landscape by designing scalable, interoperable, and secure fintech infrastructures that align with the nation’s expanding digital economy. This role combines deep technical expertise, policy fluency, and strategic foresight to accelerate financial innovation, cross-border payment linkages, and consumer transaction modernization.
Key Responsibilities

Define and implement the strategic roadmap for real-time payments, open banking, and API-based interoperability.

Lead design of next-generation digital wallets, tokenized payment systems, and dynamic settlement frameworks.

Integrate ISO 20022 payment standards into regional financial infrastructure.

Build regulatory-aligned architectures in coordination with payment regulators and compliance authorities.

Spearhead digital currency readiness projects involving CBDC frameworks, stablecoins, and programmable payment instruments.

Manage cybersecurity integration, identity authentication, and fraud prevention systems across multiple platforms.

Drive partnerships with digital banks, neobanks, and payment aggregators to enhance financial inclusivity.

Oversee performance optimization, transaction analytics, and predictive data models for payment intelligence.
Qualifications & Expertise

Advanced degree (MSc/MBA) in Computer Science, Financial Technology, or Systems Engineering.

Minimum 12 years’ experience in digital payment infrastructure design or fintech strategy.

In-depth knowledge of cloud-native architecture, blockchain integration, and cross-border settlement protocols.

Proficiency in digital identity, data security, and transaction compliance frameworks.

Strong understanding of GCC and international fintech regulatory ecosystems.
