Chief Blockchain & Digital Asset Strategist – Bahrain

Role Context

This executive-level remote position targets a fintech innovator responsible for defining blockchain and digital asset strategies that align with GCC-wide and global financial ecosystems. The strategist will conceptualize, architect, and oversee secure, scalable, and compliant distributed ledger solutions for institutional and retail digital assets. The role demands extensive expertise in cross-border digital asset operations, regulatory frameworks, and emerging technologies in blockchain, ensuring that the enterprise maintains a leadership position in digital finance innovation.

Strategic Mandate

• Lead the development of enterprise blockchain and tokenization frameworks, including cross-border asset settlement and digital identity integrations.

• Define strategic deployment of smart contracts, decentralized finance protocols, and programmable asset platforms.

• Establish interoperability standards across financial institutions, custodians, and digital asset marketplaces.

• Advise on the integration of blockchain solutions with conventional banking infrastructure, ensuring seamless operational continuity.

• Monitor global trends in digital assets, DeFi ecosystems, and regulatory developments, translating insights into actionable strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect multi-layer distributed ledger systems, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.

• Guide token economics and digital asset lifecycle management, including issuance, transfer, redemption, and reporting.

• Develop governance frameworks, risk management protocols, and auditability standards for blockchain applications.

• Lead cross-functional teams comprising blockchain engineers, product managers, legal, compliance specialists, and business strategists.

• Engage with regulators, central banks, and international consortia to shape and align standards and practices.

• Conduct scenario planning and stress-testing of blockchain ecosystems to identify vulnerabilities and operational risks.

Technical & Professional Requirements

• 12+ years in fintech, blockchain, or digital asset strategy leadership.

• Proven expertise in enterprise blockchain architectures, smart contract design, and cryptographic protocols.

• Deep understanding of global regulatory environments, AML/KYC compliance, and financial market infrastructures.

• Advanced knowledge of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, cryptography, and digital identity management.

• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex, high-value digital transformation programs.
