Chief Architect of Embedded Finance & API-Driven Banking Systems – Kuwait (GCC & Global Remote)

Strategic Mandate

This role exists at the highest tier of embedded finance architecture, responsible for designing and governing API-native banking and financial service ecosystems that seamlessly integrate financial capabilities into non-financial digital platforms. The position is fully remote, yet strategically anchored to Kuwait’s expanding role in regional capital deployment, private markets, and advanced financial intermediation.

The mandate extends beyond system design into financial platform philosophy—re-imagining how banking, payments, credit, and financial utilities are modularised, distributed, and consumed across digital economies.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect and oversee enterprise-grade embedded finance platforms, enabling banking, payments, lending, and financial data services to be consumed as modular APIs.

• Design high-resilience API orchestration layers capable of supporting massive transaction concurrency, partner integrations, and third-party platform dependency.

• Define canonical data models, event schemas, and service contracts that ensure interoperability across financial and non-financial ecosystems.

• Establish governance frameworks for API security, identity abstraction, access control, and transaction integrity.

• Lead architectural decision-making for open banking–style ecosystems, platform monetisation strategies, and developer enablement models.

• Translate regulatory, risk, and compliance constraints into scalable technical patterns without inhibiting innovation velocity.

• Act as a principal authority advising senior stakeholders on the future of platform-centric financial architectures.

Required Expertise & Professional Profile

• 15–20+ years of experience in banking technology, fintech platform engineering, or large-scale API ecosystems.

• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, API gateways, and event-driven architectures.

• Proven track record designing mission-critical financial platforms with external dependency exposure.

• Strong understanding of financial products, transaction lifecycles, and platform economics.

• Executive-level communication skills and the ability to operate autonomously in a remote strategic role.

Salary & Compensation Structure (Kuwait Benchmark – Remote)

• Base Annual Salary: KWD 190,000 – KWD 245,000

• Senior Architecture & Platform Premium: Embedded within upper band

• Annual Performance Variable: 25% – 40% linked to platform scalability, adoption, and resilience KPIs

• Long-Term Incentive Arrangement: Multi-year deferred cash awards aligned with ecosystem maturity
