Role Summary

Saudi Arabia’s banking ecosystem is evolving into a digitally native financial landscape, requiring high-performance financial technology platforms capable of scaling across multiple digital channels. The Chief Architect – Digital Banking & Financial Technology Platforms will provide strategic and technical leadership in designing next-generation banking and payment infrastructures. The role focuses on creating resilient, secure, and highly scalable digital finance systems that support:

• Real-time payments and digital wallets

• Multi-channel digital banking

• API-driven service integration

• Automated regulatory compliance and monitoring

This position operates remotely while guiding cross-functional teams contributing to Saudi Arabia’s strategic fintech modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Architecture & Engineering

   • Lead the design of scalable, distributed digital banking platforms.

   • Ensure modular architecture to facilitate integration with fintech partners and emerging digital services.

2. Payments & Transaction Networks

   • Oversee real-time payment system design, settlement mechanisms, and cross-border transaction capabilities.

   • Optimize transaction routing, latency, and high-availability infrastructure.

3. Data Security & Compliance

   • Establish governance frameworks for data privacy, regulatory adherence, and operational resilience.

   • Implement advanced monitoring and fraud detection systems across financial platforms.

4. Innovation Strategy

   • Evaluate emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, smart contracts) for integration into financial systems.

   • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the team.

Technical Environment

• Cloud-native fintech infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Distributed microservices and event-driven architectures

• Secure API and integration frameworks

• Real-time transaction monitoring systems

• AI/ML-enabled fraud detection and predictive analytics

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 15+ years in fintech architecture, digital banking systems, or payment platform engineering

• Technical Expertise: Distributed financial systems, scalable transaction networks, secure cloud platforms

• Leadership: Proven record of leading multi-disciplinary international teams in complex fintech deployments
