Position Overview
An expanding financial technology organization is seeking an accomplished Backend Engineer to architect and build highly scalable backend systems powering mission-critical financial applications. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about distributed systems, payment infrastructure, secure API ecosystems, and cloud-native financial services.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to build resilient services capable of processing millions of secure financial transactions while maintaining exceptional availability, compliance, and performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design highly available backend microservices.
- Build secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Develop real-time payment processing services.
- Optimize database performance and query execution.
- Implement event-driven architectures using messaging systems.
- Develop fraud detection integration services.
- Build authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Integrate third-party banking APIs.
- Implement transaction reconciliation engines.
- Develop scalable ledger services.
- Maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Perform code reviews and architectural assessments.
- Build monitoring and observability dashboards.
- Improve platform reliability and resilience.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- 4+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience designing distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of container technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Cloud experience using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of payment systems architecture.
- Understanding of secure software development principles.
