Role Overview
The Senior Remote CBDC Integration Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing technical frameworks that enable commercial banks, payment service providers, and fintech platforms in Kuwait to seamlessly integrate with Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) infrastructures. This role demands in-depth knowledge of digital currency architecture, payment interoperability protocols, and compliance with Kuwait Central Bank’s regulatory framework for digital monetary instruments.
The successful candidate will guide stakeholders through CBDC adoption, ensuring operational readiness, cybersecurity compliance, and market interoperability across domestic and international transaction corridors.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the integration of CBDC APIs and payment rails into existing banking and fintech platforms.

Design middleware solutions for connecting core banking systems with central bank digital currency networks.

Ensure alignment with international payment interoperability standards (ISO 20022, SWIFT gpi) while meeting Kuwait-specific regulations.

Conduct transaction throughput testing to ensure sub-second settlement performance.

Develop fraud prevention layers, AML/CTF compliance modules, and real-time transaction monitoring tools.

Provide technical documentation, developer guides, and sandbox environments for integration partners.

Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance and technical certification.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Financial Technology, or related discipline.

8+ years of experience in payment systems architecture or CBDC/digital asset integration.

Strong knowledge of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies used in central banking contexts.

Proficiency in API development, middleware design, and high-volume payment infrastructure.
Preferred Skills

Prior experience with CBDC pilot projects or central bank integrations.

Knowledge of tokenized asset settlement systems.
