Role Overview

This critical role leads the architectural design, interoperability mapping, and operational governance of UAE’s next-generation open banking environments. The Senior Open Banking Infrastructure & API Governance Architect is responsible for constructing scalable, secure, and regulator-aligned API ecosystems that enable frictionless financial data exchange, intelligent service orchestration, and seamless multi-institution connectivity across UAE’s fintech sector.

Primary Responsibilities

• Engineer API governance frameworks defining authentication layers, access stratification, consent lifecycle management, and real-time data privilege orchestration.

• Design next-gen open finance platforms integrating third-party provider onboarding, API lifecycle automation, granular permissioning logic, and encrypted multi-party data flows.

• Oversee interoperability design ensuring compatibility with UAE’s open banking standards, cross-market digital identity protocols, and financial institution integration requirements.

• Lead development of monitoring and reliability systems including latency profiling, API performance optimization, automated fault detection, and SLA-driven resilience.

• Institutionalize security architecture covering data-minimization principles, policy-based access control, cryptographic tokenization, and system-wide identity trust anchors.

• Collaborate with regulatory bodies, digital finance consortiums, and financial institutions to maintain compliance with UAE directives across data, payments, and consumer protection domains.

• Drive continuous innovation in API design, including event-driven financial interactions, ultra-secure cloud-native integration, and real-time financial service orchestration.

Required Expertise

• 8–12 years in open banking architecture, financial API engineering, digital identity systems, or financial data governance.

• Strong mastery of API security, OAuth frameworks, multi-party data exchange systems, and cross-border financial interoperability.

• Familiarity with UAE regulatory standards covering digital finance, data privacy, and financial connectivity frameworks.

• Demonstrated ability to architect mission-critical API ecosystems at national scale.
