Role Overview

A rapidly expanding fintech ecosystem in Riyadh is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fintech Software Developer to build, optimize, and modernize mission-critical financial systems that support digital payments, merchant acquiring, wallet infrastructure, API banking services, transaction routing, and real-time reconciliation platforms.

This role is designed for developers who understand that fintech software engineering is far more than application development—it is about creating highly secure, resilient, and scalable financial infrastructure where every deployment impacts customer trust, regulatory compliance, and business continuity.

The successful candidate will work on enterprise-grade backend platforms that power payment gateways, settlement engines, remittance services, card processing systems, digital lending modules, treasury operations, and embedded finance solutions across large-scale transactional environments.

You will collaborate with platform architects, cybersecurity teams, DevOps engineers, compliance leaders, fraud prevention specialists, and product stakeholders to deliver systems where precision is mandatory and downtime is unacceptable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting high-volume fintech operations
• Build secure APIs for payment gateways, wallet systems, merchant acquiring platforms, and banking integrations
• Develop resilient microservices architecture for transaction routing, payment orchestration, and settlement management
• Optimize performance for real-time payment processing, reconciliation systems, and high-concurrency financial databases
• Implement secure coding practices, encryption controls, and financial audit logging mechanisms
• Integrate fraud monitoring tools, compliance workflows, and transaction risk controls into platform architecture
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure scalability across production systems
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud engineering teams on platform resilience and observability improvements
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce engineering quality standards
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting for financial systems
• Improve operational reporting and exception handling across digital transaction environments
• Support strategic platform modernization initiatives for long-term fintech transformation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably within fintech, banking, or financial services
• Strong expertise in backend development using Java, Python, or modern enterprise programming languages
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems design
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or enterprise transactional databases
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD deployment models
• Understanding of payment systems, digital banking operations, and financial transaction workflows
• Knowledge of secure development standards and compliance-driven engineering practices
• Strong debugging, optimization, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
