The Strategic Opportunity
A fast-scaling financial technology ecosystem operating across the GCC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Fintech DevOps Engineer – Cloud Payments & High-Availability Financial Systems to design, automate, and maintain the mission-critical infrastructure powering digital payments, merchant acquiring systems, real-time transaction processing, and enterprise financial APIs.
This role sits at the core of financial system reliability. Every deployment, every pipeline, and every infrastructure decision directly impacts payment success rates, customer trust, transaction speed, and institutional stability. The environment is high-volume, always-on, and performance-sensitive, where downtime is not just a technical failure—it is a financial disruption.
The successful engineer will be responsible for building resilient cloud-native infrastructure capable of handling millions of transactions across payment gateways, digital wallets, cross-border settlement systems, fraud detection pipelines, and treasury integrations.
This is a role for an engineer who understands that in fintech, infrastructure is the product.
Core Responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure supporting payment systems, digital wallets, merchant platforms, and financial APIs
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines ensuring secure, automated, and zero-downtime deployments across fintech services
• Strengthen Kubernetes-based microservices architecture supporting high-volume transaction processing systems
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) for consistent and repeatable environment provisioning
• Develop monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks for real-time system health and financial transaction visibility
• Collaborate with software engineers, cybersecurity teams, compliance officers, and product leaders to ensure secure and stable deployments
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and latency across financial transaction flows
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and production reliability improvements
• Implement disaster recovery strategies, failover systems, and business continuity frameworks
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, financial security standards, and internal governance policies
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
• 5–8+ years of DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering experience in fintech, banking, or high-availability systems
• Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, and CI/CD tools
• Experience supporting payment systems, APIs, distributed systems, or high-traffic financial platforms
• Strong understanding of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, etc.)
• Knowledge of secure infrastructure design and DevSecOps practices
• Strong problem-solving mindset and production ownership mentality
