Role Overview
Legacy core banking systems are one of the biggest constraints to fintech innovation. This role is for a professional who can lead the modernization of core financial infrastructure, transforming rigid systems into agile, API-enabled platforms.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead core banking transformation initiatives, including system upgrades and migrations
- Design and implement API layers to enable integration with fintech applications
- Manage system interoperability between legacy platforms and modern digital solutions
- Oversee data migration, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and minimal disruption
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deliver scalable, future-ready systems
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and operational risk frameworks
- Optimize system performance for speed, reliability, and scalability
Technical Environment
- Core Systems: Temenos, Finacle, or equivalent
- Integration: Middleware platforms, API gateways
- Data: Migration tools, ETL processes
- Infrastructure: Hybrid cloud environments
- Architecture: Microservices and modular system design
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Finance
- 9+ years in banking technology, system integration, or fintech transformation
- Strong understanding of core banking operations and system architecture
- Experience managing large-scale transformation projects
- Ability to balance technical complexity with business priorities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud-based core banking platforms
- Knowledge of open banking and API ecosystems
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks
- Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
