Role Overview
This role focuses on one of the most transformative aspects of fintech: expanding access to financial services for underserved populations. You will design and scale products that provide affordable credit, savings tools, and financial access to individuals and small businesses traditionally excluded from formal banking systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop digital microfinance products, including small loans, savings accounts, and financial tools
- Design alternative credit scoring models using non-traditional data sources
- Build partnerships with telecoms, NGOs, and digital platforms to expand reach
- Optimize onboarding processes for low-friction, mobile-first user experiences
- Monitor product impact through financial inclusion metrics and user adoption rates
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations and consumer protection laws
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business
- 8+ years in fintech, microfinance, or financial inclusion initiatives
- Strong understanding of lending products and credit risk management
- Experience working with underserved or emerging market segments
- Ability to balance commercial viability with social impact
Preferred Skills
- Experience with mobile money platforms or agent networks
- Knowledge of behavioral finance and user-centric design
- Familiarity with impact measurement frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills
