Role Overview

The Senior Director will lead the design of Qatar’s unified open finance infrastructure—a national-scale digital fabric integrating open banking APIs, consent-based data mobility, AI-enhanced financial intelligence, secure identity frameworks, and interoperable financial services ecosystems.

The role blends deep technological fluency with regulatory engineering to ensure Qatar’s open finance revolution is secure, interoperable, scalable, and aligned with global standards for open data portability.

Key Responsibilities

Open Finance & API Infrastructure Architecture

• Design an advanced API ecosystem enabling account aggregation, payment initiation, identity verification, and real-time entitlement management.

• Develop national standards for API security, rate governance, version control, and interoperability certification.

Unified Financial Identity & Trust Frameworks

• Architect digital identity systems employing advanced verification, cryptographic attestation, and consent-driven authorization.

• Build trust layers enabling secure cross-institution financial data portability with zero-knowledge protections.

AI-Enhanced Data Intelligence & Behavioral Analytics

• Create predictive financial behavior models supporting personalized financial insights, credit decision optimization, and fraud risk reduction.

• Integrate real-time scoring engines for transaction anomaly detection and identity risk mapping.

Regulatory Integration & Ecosystem Governance

• Collaborate with regulators to translate policy objectives into scalable technical frameworks.

• Oversee API governance boards ensuring alignment across banks, fintechs, insurers, asset firms, and telecom ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Digital Finance, Data Systems, or related.

• 10–15 years in open banking, API governance, digital identity design, or large-scale financial interoperability systems.

• Demonstrated experience implementing AI-based financial data platforms and regulated data flows.
