Position Overview
The Senior Director of Open Banking Architecture & API Ecosystem Design will serve as the principal architect behind Oman’s transition toward a fully interoperable open banking environment. This role demands fluency across API economics, cloud security, and embedded finance architecture, ensuring systemic interoperability between banks, fintechs, and third-party developers within a compliant, data-sovereign framework.
This role merges technical mastery with policy alignment, ensuring that every integration layer aligns with international API governance models while supporting Oman’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities

Open Banking Infrastructure: Design and implement modular API frameworks for multi-institutional data exchange with security-first, scalable microservices.

Ecosystem Integration: Lead ecosystem partnerships with fintech developers, digital identity providers, and payment processors for unified customer experiences.

Regulatory Alignment: Engineer programmable compliance systems mapping Oman’s financial directives into secure, machine-readable logic.

Cybersecurity Architecture: Integrate zero-trust network principles, secure data orchestration, and continuous monitoring for financial-grade resilience.

Innovation Acceleration: Build sandbox architectures for fintech experimentation under controlled regulatory observability.
Required Expertise

Master’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Financial Systems, or Information Security.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in API architecture, digital banking platforms, or payment systems design.

Deep knowledge of OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, ISO 20022, GraphQL, DevSecOps, and AI-enhanced API orchestration.

Strong experience interfacing with regulators and fintech consortia across the GCC or EU.
