Role Overview
A high-impact architecture role focused on designing next-generation digital payments infrastructure and open banking ecosystems across retail, SME, and cross-border financial flows. This position sits at the intersection of API banking, real-time settlement systems, and embedded finance orchestration, supporting national-level digital economy transformation initiatives.
You will be responsible for defining scalable payment rails, interoperability layers, and secure API frameworks that enable seamless data exchange between banks, fintech platforms, and regulated third-party providers.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end open banking frameworks, including consent layers, API gateways, and secure data-sharing protocols
- Design real-time payment processing systems supporting instant transfers, cross-border settlements, and multi-currency wallets
- Define technical standards for PSD2-style (or equivalent regional) API interoperability across financial institutions
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and financial institutions to align system architecture with compliance and cybersecurity requirements
- Lead integration strategies for embedded finance use cases in retail, e-commerce, mobility, and gig economy platforms
- Develop resilience models for high-availability payment systems with near-zero downtime tolerance
- Evaluate and implement tokenization, encryption, and fraud-prevention layers for digital transactions
Required Expertise
- 8+ years in fintech architecture, banking systems, or payment infrastructure design
- Deep experience with API gateways, microservices architecture, and distributed ledger systems
- Strong understanding of ISO 20022 messaging standards and real-time payment rails
- Experience with cloud-native financial infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks in financial ecosystems
Preferred Attributes
- Exposure to central bank digital transformation initiatives
- Experience building open banking ecosystems or fintech aggregators
- Familiarity with tokenized payment systems and digital identity frameworks
