Role Overview

This role oversees the end-to-end strategic evolution of the UAE’s digital payments landscape, shaping next-generation transaction infrastructures through advanced architecture design, regulatory alignment, and AI-driven optimization. The strategist develops frameworks enhancing interoperability across domestic and cross-border rails, enabling seamless consumer, merchant, and institutional payment ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect high-scale digital payment ecosystems aligned with UAE’s evolving regulatory frameworks and national financial transformation priorities.

• Lead modernization of real-time payment capabilities, ISO 20022 alignment, and future-ready interoperability models.

• Drive innovation around tokenized payment instruments, digital wallets, biometric authentication, and fraud-resistant payment orchestration.

• Develop multi-layered governance structures for operational resilience, financial integrity, and data-driven monitoring.

• Evaluate and integrate AI-powered transaction risk intelligence engines, anomaly detection mechanisms, and predictive routing logic.

• Coordinate with external stakeholders to optimize cross-border settlement frameworks, instant remittances, and region-aligned compliance protocols.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital payments strategy, payment technology architecture, or financial infrastructure innovation.

• Proven expertise in instant payments, API-driven open banking models, and real-time settlement systems.

• Strong command of compliance domains: AML/CFT frameworks, regulatory sandboxes, digital identity requirements.

• Advanced understanding of cloud-native payments infrastructure, cryptographic security, and high-availability systems design.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Digital Innovation preferred.
