Role Overview

This role centers on architecting next-generation digital payments frameworks aligned with the UAE’s accelerating transition toward frictionless cross-border settlement, instant payment rails, and advanced open banking ecosystems. The strategist will lead conceptualization, design, and optimization of large-scale payment innovations, enabling interoperability across digital wallets, real-time clearing systems, and regulated API gateways. The role demands mastery of multi-layered financial architectures, compliance assurance under UAE-specific regulatory frameworks, and the ability to convert complex financial infrastructures into scalable digital execution models.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer unified digital payment blueprints aligned with UAE’s regulatory modernization agendas, including open banking directives, instant transfers, and enhanced consumer protection mandates.

• Develop cross-border settlement workflows leveraging ISO 20022 messaging, tokenized payment channels, and secure identity frameworks.

• Conduct multi-phase feasibility analyses for UAE-based digital marketplaces, micro-merchants, and enterprise clients adopting next-gen payment systems.

• Integrate fraud analytics, AML automation, and behavioral risk scoring into digital payment lifecycles.

• Advance strategic partnerships with international payment networks, remittance facilitators, and fintech API infrastructure providers.

• Oversee end-to-end ecosystem performance models, ensuring multiregional scalability, zero-downtime resilience, and optimal user experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in digital payments strategy, fintech architecture, or real-time transaction systems.

• Deep knowledge of UAE digital payments landscape, ISO 20022, API orchestration, and cross-border remittance frameworks.

• Strong expertise in digital wallet systems, instant payment rails, tokenization, and ecosystem interoperability.

• Ability to interpret complex regulatory standards into actionable digital execution pathways.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience with AI-driven payments optimization or behavioral fraud analytics.

• Proven ability in multi-jurisdiction payment product design.
