Position Overview
An advanced opportunity exists for a Senior Digital Payments Infrastructure Specialist to architect, optimize, and scale next-generation payment ecosystems serving high-volume transactional environments across the United Arab Emirates and broader GCC corridors.
This role operates at the intersection of distributed financial systems engineering, regulatory orchestration, and real-time transaction processing, requiring a professional capable of translating complex financial flows into resilient, low-latency infrastructure.
Core Mandate
You will be entrusted with designing and refining payment rails that support:
- Real-time settlement frameworks (RTGS integrations, instant payment schemes)
- Multi-currency transaction routing and liquidity optimization
- API-first payment orchestration layers for fintech ecosystems
- Resilient reconciliation engines and ledger synchronization models
The role requires a high degree of ownership over infrastructure scalability, uptime guarantees, and regulatory alignment with regional financial authorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payment Systems Architecture
- Design modular, cloud-native payment processing systems
- Implement fault-tolerant transaction pipelines with near-zero downtime
- Optimize routing logic for cost efficiency and latency reduction
2. Regulatory & Compliance Engineering
- Align infrastructure with UAE Central Bank payment regulations
- Integrate AML/KYC verification frameworks into transaction flows
- Ensure auditability across all payment lifecycle stages
3. Integration & Interoperability
- Develop API gateways enabling seamless integration with banks, PSPs, and fintech platforms
- Orchestrate interoperability between legacy systems and modern payment technologies
4. Performance Optimization
- Monitor throughput, latency, and transaction success rates
- Deploy intelligent load balancing and queue management strategies
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in payment gateway architecture, transaction switching, or digital banking systems
- Strong command of microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and distributed ledger frameworks
- Deep familiarity with ISO 20022 messaging standards and SWIFT integrations
- Proven ability to operate within highly regulated financial ecosystems
