You will be entrusted with designing and scaling next-generation payment systems that seamlessly integrate card networks, real-time payment rails, open banking APIs, and emerging digital asset frameworks.

This is not a maintenance role—it is a forward-deployment strategic engineering mandate requiring deep technical authorship, architectural governance, and ecosystem orchestration.

Core Mandate

You will lead the design and continuous evolution of a resilient, high-throughput payments architecture, ensuring:

• Ultra-low latency processing for high-frequency transaction flows
• Interoperability across regional and global payment schemes
• Seamless API-first integrations with banks, fintechs, and merchants
• Fault-tolerant infrastructure capable of handling peak transactional surges

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

• Design distributed payment systems using microservices and event-driven architectures
• Define system blueprints for payment orchestration, routing logic, and settlement flows
• Establish design principles for scalability, redundancy, and zero-downtime deployments

Payments Ecosystem Integration

• Integrate with card schemes, instant payment systems, and cross-border remittance networks
• Develop tokenization, encryption, and secure credential vaulting mechanisms
• Oversee implementation of payment gateways and smart routing engines

Regulatory & Security Engineering

• Ensure full compliance with regional regulatory frameworks and international payment standards
• Embed fraud detection layers using AI-driven anomaly detection models
• Implement secure authentication frameworks (multi-factor, biometric, risk-based)

Performance Optimization

• Engineer systems capable of handling millions of transactions per day
• Optimize latency across distributed systems using advanced caching and load-balancing strategies
• Continuously refine throughput performance via real-time monitoring and observability tools

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years in fintech, banking technology, or high-scale transaction systems
• Deep expertise in payment protocols, ISO messaging standards, and API ecosystems
• Strong proficiency in cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, containerization, serverless frameworks)
• Experience designing high-availability systems with 99.99% uptime targets
• Advanced knowledge of cryptographic security and transaction integrity models
