A highly innovative financial technology environment in Dubai is seeking an accomplished Senior Backend Engineer – Real-Time Payment Infrastructure & Financial Systems to build the critical backend architecture powering next-generation digital payment platforms.
This role is designed for an elite backend professional passionate about solving complex engineering challenges involving millions of financial transactions, low-latency payment processing, distributed computing, API ecosystems, and highly available cloud-based infrastructures.
The successful candidate will become a core member of a sophisticated engineering division responsible for creating secure transaction engines, payment gateways, account management services, digital wallet platforms, reconciliation systems, and financial data processing pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
High-Performance Backend Development
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend services responsible for processing real-time financial transactions.
- Build scalable microservices capable of handling high volumes of API requests with minimal response times.
- Develop robust payment orchestration systems connecting multiple financial channels and transaction providers.
- Create resilient systems capable of maintaining uninterrupted financial services 24/7.
Financial Transaction Processing & System Architecture
- Develop transaction lifecycle management services covering authorization, processing, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Implement event-driven architectures utilizing message queues and asynchronous processing models.
- Design fault-tolerant systems with automated recovery mechanisms to guarantee business continuity.
- Optimize database structures for high-speed financial operations and complex transaction queries.
Backend Technologies & Engineering Excellence
- Develop backend solutions using technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Design RESTful and GraphQL APIs supporting web applications, mobile banking platforms, merchant services, and third-party integrations.
- Implement caching solutions using Redis and high-performance data access strategies.
- Work extensively with PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases, and distributed storage technologies.
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Collaboration
- Deploy and maintain applications within cloud environments using containerized technologies.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Participate in performance testing, system monitoring, and production incident resolution.
Security & Regulatory Engineering Standards
- Develop secure coding practices protecting financial information and transaction integrity.
- Implement authentication systems, authorization frameworks, encryption mechanisms, and secure API communications.
- Participate in security reviews, penetration testing preparations, and vulnerability remediation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Technology, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 6–10 years of professional backend engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing distributed systems and highly scalable APIs.
- Deep understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working in mission-critical environments where uptime and reliability are mandatory.
Preferred Technical Stack
- Java Spring Boot, Go, Python Django/FastAPI, or Node.js.
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
- Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other streaming platforms.
- Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud technologies.
- Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
