With its rapidly growing stature as a regional hub for digital finance, sovereign data policy, and smart governance, Qatar is aggressively investing in cybersecurity and post-quantum financial resilience. The financial sector is particularly vulnerable to next-gen cryptographic threats, especially across transaction signing, wallet custody, cross-border remittances, and digital asset exchanges.
This senior role will lead the development and integration of quantum-resilient encryption methodologies across fintech systems in Qatar, working in tandem with QCB (Qatar Central Bank), digital finance startups, cybersecurity accelerators, and sovereign security bodies.
Key Missions & Strategic Execution:

Audit existing fintech cryptographic layers for exposure to future quantum threats—particularly RSA-2048, ECC, and SHA-2 dependencies.

Develop transition roadmaps toward NIST-standard post-quantum algorithms (e.g., Kyber, Dilithium) for fintech and digital banking platforms.

Build zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) based data sharing protocols for Qatari RegTech APIs, ensuring data minimization and compliance.

Oversee the design of a centralized quantum-safe key management infrastructure compatible with Qatar’s national digital ID systems.

Publish threat scenarios and simulation models for cross-border attacks on Qatari fintech APIs in a quantum computing context.

Guide fintech founders and CTOs through adoption of hybrid crypto models (classical + PQC) and secure wallet integrations.

Develop compliance toolkits for cyber regulators and data protection authorities under Qatari law.

Advise fintech firms on homomorphic encryption for privacy-preserving credit scoring and confidential computing.
Ideal Profile:

PhD or equivalent experience in cryptography, post-quantum security, or computer science.

10+ years in financial cybersecurity, cryptographic infrastructure, or sovereign tech strategy.

Familiarity with GCC regulatory environments and global encryption policy.

Prior work with secure enclaves, key management systems, or CBDC design teams.
Preferred Expertise:

Engagement with NIST PQC standardization or EU quantum-readiness projects.

Arabic reading capability and understanding of Qatar’s digital sovereignty ethos.
